Carl is the Development Director for SLSB and his role is to ensure the charity has sufficient income for the future and to manage the funds being used each year. Part of his role also includes running the social enterprises.
Margaret has two roles – Services Manager and Resource and Information Co-ordinator. She shares the role as Services Manager with Janet Eardley and together ensures SLSB’s services run smoothly and meets the needs of our members. As Resource and Information Co-ordinator, Margaret is responsible for the Sight Advice Centre, the Hospital Desk and oversees the Low Vision Service.
Community Development Co-ordinator – Scott visits people at home to demonstrate equipment and give information groups and other voluntary organisations. Scott also arranges for Volunteers to visit people who want home based support. Scott is part of the Low Vision Scheme which works closely with Adult & Cultural Services.
Charles Ely is SLSB’s technology adviser, he provides advice on how computers can be made accessible for visually impaired people and gives training in computer use. He also advises on other “hi-tech” equipment such as electronic magnifiers and reading machines.

In addition to this Jan is responsible for the Children’s Project
Elizabeth is the Fund Raising Secretary. She organises street and in store collections. The Annual Coffee Morning and Fund Raising Concerts are also arranged by Elizabeth. She also organises the weekly Keep Fit Class.
Lisa is the Administration Officer at SLSB and her role is to organize the office to run smoothly. Her duties include answering the phones and general post, email and faxes. Lisa is good at trouble shooting and is in the process of sorting a few years filing.
