The South Lakes Society for the Blind Hospital Information Service.
Based at Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal, in the Outpatients Department (beside the WRVS tea bar). The information desk is staffed by a team of volunteers who provide information and support every Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday. Each Thursday, Margaret McClure provides patient support in the eye clinic as eye clinic link officer (ECLO).
Trained volunteers can provide additional support by accompanying people to their hospital appointment to take notes and liaise with eye clinic staff when needed.
